Set 'Text' Property of Object(s)

Description

The Set 'Text' Property of Object(s) action sets the text that is displayed by one or more objects.

Procedure

  1. Select the window that contains the text data. There are two options:

    • "Current Form or Browse Window"

    • "Another Form or Browse Window"

  2. If you selected "Another Form or Browse Window", select an open form or browse in the Window Name list.

  3. Click the + button to display a list of objects on the window that have the 'Text' property. Select an object and click OK to add it to the list. Click the button to remove the currently selected item on the list.

  4. For each object in the list, specify how you will specify the text property. There are three options:

    • "Specify the value now"

    • "Specify a variable that contains the value"

    • "Specify an expression that evaluates to the value"

  5. If you selected "Specify the value now", enter the text value in the Value field.

  6. If you selected "Specify a variable that contains the value", select a variable from the Variable list.

  7. If you selected "Specify an expression that evaluates to the value", enter an expression that evaluates to a character value in the Expression field.

  8. Click Next >.

  9. Optionally modify the comment that describes the action.

  10. Click Finish.
